Description & Features

Mathematical Reasoning™ helps students devise strategies to solve a wide variety of math problems. This book emphasizes problem-solving and computation to build the math reasoning skills necessary for success in higher-level math and math assessments. This book is written to the standards of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. The Level E book is a complete curriculum for the fourth grade level.

These highly effective activities take students far beyond drill-and-practice by using step-by-step, discussion-based problem-solving to develop a conceptual bridge between computation and the reasoning required for upper-level math. Activities and units spiral slowly, allowing students to become comfortable with concepts but also challenging them to continue building their math skills.

"We have truly enjoyed using this book. We started out by just using it once a week but my daughter begged for more! How can I turn down a child begging for Math!?! We are now using it daily and I can see the improvement in her math." -Jacquelin, Virginia

"I really like that there is a lot of life application, logic and critical thinking sprinkled throughout the book. Lessons do not appear overwhelming or take hours to complete. In fact, most pages take just a few minutes to complete. There is a lot of colorful visual appeal as well, without appearing too childish for these upper elementary kids." -Marcy, Kentucky

"It has been so good for her because it requires her to think! Sometimes she would get frustrated, but the material was engaging and it kept her motivated to try and figure it out." -Suzie, Illinois

The fun thing about Mathematical Reasoning™ is that every page is a little different. No rote facts or boredom here! Mix that in with a few game-like activities and lots of colors and pictures, and they had my kiddo hooked. -Michele, Virginia

"This is a gorgeous book, inside and out - visually appealing and colorful; it makes getting kids interested in the book simple. May I repeat - simple." -Becky, Texas
