N/AEditor in Chief provides thorough, effective and compelling practice in this vital, often overlooked aspect of the writing process. Each of my students enjoys the experience and is willing and eager to continue practicing.

N/AThe low readability allows the student to focus better on the [punctuation] skills rather than just decoding the story.

N/AWhen my daughter was 13, I began using the Editor in Chief® series as part of our homeschool curriculum. She enjoyed the challenge of looking for errors even if at times she became frustrated that she missed a few--only to go back and look harder until she found them! These skills have helped her to express her thoughts well throughout high school and college. Now 20, she was approached by the dean of students at her university and asked if she would be interested in being the senior editor for the school newspaper! She immediately jumped at the chance! This is a paid position complete with an office, a budget, photographers, writers, layouts, printers, etc. She now has truly become an 'Editor in Chief.' Thank you!

N/AI am a certified teacher in math and history. I homeschool my 13-year-old niece, and I was looking for curriculum materials in language arts. Thanks to a friend, I was introduced to your products, and we now use the Editor in Chief® series. She looks forward to her grammar sessions instead of dreading the boring drills in their previous books.

N/AEditor in Chief® Beginning Book 1 was perfect for us, because Ive got a 2nd grader just beginning this type of thing in language arts, and a 4th grader who needs a little help with it. Each lesson begins with the rules. They are laid out in a basic numbers- and bullet-point manner, which I appreciate. I like being able to see everything immediately, rather than trying to pick out the rule from a long paragraph with extraneous words. The rules page is followed by a series of example paragraphs, in which the child is asked to spot the broken rule and fix it. In the back of the book is an answer key which not only gives the correct answer but states the specific rule. This is particularly helpful if you have a child who wants to know Why??-you can refer them to a specific rule. I appreciated that the paragraphs are each accompanied by a picture, for a little visual interest, and are reasonably interesting for small, busy minds. If you have been looking for some help with grammar and punctuation, I highly recommend The Critical Thinking Co.™ as a place to start your search!

N/AI 'have been using The Critical Thinking Company materials for 17 years. We home educate our sons and these books are an important part of our curriculum. Our 1st son is an honor student at the University, and our 2nd son, a senior in high school, just scored a perfect 800 on the critical reading section of the SAT. He says, 'After all of those Editor in Chief books, how could I not do well, mom!' Thanks Critical Thinking Co.!
